Pulmonary Lymphomatoid Granulomatosis
**Semantic type:** Neoplastic Process
**Definition:** A rare lymphoproliferative disorder that affects the lungs. It is characterized by the presence of an angiocentric and angiodestructive polymorphic cellular infiltrate composed of EBV-positive neoplastic B-lymphocytes and reactive T-lymphocytes. The majority of patients present with bilateral nodular lesions in the lungs. The prognosis depends on the histologic grade of the lesions. One third of patients with grade 1 lesions and two thirds of patients with grade 2 lesions progress to non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Grade 3 lesions, by definition, are classified as non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
