Nogalamycin

**Definition:** An anthracycline antineoplastic antibiotic isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces nogalater. Nogalamycin intercalates into DNA and interacts with topoisomerase I, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and repair and RNA and protein synthesis. (NCI04)
