4.2 Understanding needs and expectations of interested parties

Clause 4.2 of ISO 22301:2019 directs an organization to identify all relevant interested parties-such as customers, suppliers, regulators, and employees-and to determine their needs, expectations, and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements that affect the business continuity management system, ensuring this information is documented, communicated, and regularly reviewed to guide the BCMS's scope and objectives.
