Category XVIII - Directed Energy Weapons

Category XVIII of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations covers directed-energy weapons, including high-energy lasers, high-power microwave systems and other devices that emit focused energy to damage, disable or deter targets. Items that incorporate, produce or control such emissions are subject to licensing and export controls under ITAR.
