**Definition:** An antineoplastic oligosaccharide anthracycline antibiotic isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces galilaeus. Aclacinomycin B intercalates into DNA and inhibits both the topoisomerase I and II enzymes, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and ultimately, interfering with RNA and protein synthesis.
