Ecomustine

**Definition:** A water-soluble nitrosoureido sugar derived from acosamine, with alkylating activity. Ecomustine alkylates and crosslinks DNA, thereby inhibiting replication and transcription and eventually resulting in a reduction of cellular proliferation.
