Annex VI - Air Pollution

Annex VI to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships sets limits on sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and ozone-depleting substances emitted by vessels, defines emission control areas, and requires compliance with fuel sulfur content and onboard monitoring. It also establishes standards for ship-board air-pollution control equipment and enforcement procedures.
